Hull and surrounding area is perfect for cycling around. Mostly flat, new cycle lanes are going up all the time under a new area initiative. And the coast little more than an hour away from the city centre, along traffic free trails to the likes of Hornsea.

Just a few minutes away from Hull, the Hull to Hornsea ‘rail trail’ marks the Eastern most part of the long distance path that is The Transpennine Trail, running between Southport on the West Coast to Hornsea here on the East. It runs along surfaced paths and only gentle gradients. It is known as Route 62 for those needing a map for the whole journey, and even forms part of the E8 European route for those wanting to venture further. Plenty of cyclists have stayed with us for both walking and cycling stopovers. But you could just make a day of it cycling to the coast at Hornsea, a little more than an hour away from the Old Town here.
